Brian is a computer consultant
in the Twin Cities area.
He has been an avid Unix user for over 15 years. He started using
AT&T System V Unix as a System Administrator and from there moved
on to programming
and development on multiple Unix variants. In 1993, he began using Linux
on a daily basis, and incorporating Open Source software into business
He began work in Network Management Systems in 1998, receiving certification
in HP OpenView. Through 2000, he continued his Network Management work.
In late 2000, he began consulting on Open Source full time. In 2003 he started working with John Kuster in an effort to bring Open Source to Small Business.
John Kuster, CPA MBA
John has been a practicing CPA in the Twin Cities area for the past 20 years.
He has been working with small businesses since
1974 with an emphasis on tax and accounting. In 1988, he was hired by a
small manufacturing company. While there, he created the controller position.
While holding this position, he worked along with top management to return the
company to profitability. In 2001, he began consulting independently
on accounting, financial and technology full time.
John has been an Open Source enthusiast for the past five years. He has experienced the power and benefits of Open Source in a small business setting. It is this experience with Open Source that led John to start working with Brian to focus their efforts on bringing Open Source to Small Business.
